Mounties Group is delighted to share with you the success of the recent Beers for Broadwater fundraising initiative and would like to extend a big thank you to all our members that contributed to the cause by donating online or at the tills, buying a beer for Broadwater, or purchasing a raffle ticket.
Fundraising efforts culminated last Saturday, 30 April, when Mounties collaborated with a number of sponsors to host Beers for Broadwater, a family fun day and live concert held at Cherry Street Sports in Ballina. At the event, we were honoured to present a cheque for $222,000 to residents of the flood-stricken town of Broadwater to provide them with some much-needed funds for rebuilding. The funds included member donations, support from sponsors, and a $100,000 contribution from Mounties Group.
A team of almost 20 Mounties staff members supported the event that saw close to 1,000 people in attendance for live entertainment, food, drinks, and other activities including a performance by Australian favourite Shannon Noll. We wanted to do more than simply present a cheque and were humbled by the opportunity to bring some community spirit and fun to local residents after everything they had endured with the recent floods.
We have a wonderful and supportive community that makes events like this possible, we could not give back to those in need without the support of our members and the sponsors who help to make events like Beers for Broadwater a success. With that in mind, Mounties Group would like to extend a special thank you to all of the sponsors who contributed, including Cherry Street Sports who provided the perfect venue for the event.
As a Profit for Purpose business, Mounties Group is proud to provide support, services, and facilities for the betterment of our communities. The successful Beers for Broadwater initiative is just another example of what can happen when we focus our energy on making a difference.
