Cooking for Dad this Father’s Day?
Give him something worth getting his fingers sticky for. 😋
These Sticky Bourbon & Maple Pork Ribs are made for a relaxed Father’s Day lunch. Get them into the oven early, then let them cook low and slow while you enjoy the day.
Ingredients:
2 racks pork ribs
½ cup maple syrup
⅓ cup bourbon
⅓ cup BBQ sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tsp smoked paprika
Method:
Preheat the oven to 150°C.
Combine the maple syrup, bourbon, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, mustard, garlic and paprika.
Season the ribs and place them in a roasting dish. Pour over about two-thirds of the sauce, turning the ribs to coat well. Cover tightly with foil and bake for approximately 2½ 3 hours, until beautifully tender.
Remove the foil, brush generously with the remaining sauce and turn the oven up to 200°C. Cook for another 15–20 minutes, basting once or twice, until the ribs are sticky and caramelised.
Serve with crunchy slaw, corn on the cob and crispy potatoes.
Just make sure there are plenty of napkins on the table!
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads and father figures celebrating this Sunday. 💙
