Alba Restaurant was born in August 2019 to get local people of Sydney’s Inner West to taste and discover the genuine home-cooking cuisine from Salento, a beautiful province in the South of Puglia, Italy. Our award-winning restaurant relies on our family's knowledge of Salentinian cuisine and our highly-acclaimed hospitality expertise. Using traditional recipe books dating to the early 19th century

and the founder’s grandmother’s handwritten recipe books, our restaurant features typical dishes you won’t find anywhere else outside of Salento. We’re talking about the delicious deep-fried dough balls “Pittule”, the famous Leccese street food “Rustico Leccese”, the melting-in-your-mouth “Eggplant Parmigiana”, an incredible selection of fresh, homemade pasta and luscious desserts! Alba has a warm atmosphere, welcoming staff, great weekly specials like ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT on Mondays, Meal Deal with live music on Tuesday evenings and a special price for weekend lunches. The perfect place for your next date or big gathering. Find us in the heart of Newtown, Sydney, to experience an everlasting tradition of love, food and passion.

Puglia is the heel of Italy. Olive groves a thousand years old, a coastline that doesn’t end, and food born of farmers, shepherds and fishermen who never had much and made the best of everything.

All June, our kitchen is cooking through it.

Panzerottini fried until pillowy, stuffed with melting mozzarella. Orecchiette with cime di rapa, anchovy, and sausage braised in Primitivo. Bombette di Martina Franca, pork rolled around pecorino, Capocollo and caciocavallo. Mustazzoli al cioccolato finished with vincotto.

Four dishes. One sun soaked region. All June at 304 King St, Newtown.

Don’t miss it!

Culurgiones. 🌾

Sardinian dumplings, hand-pleated like little ears of wheat, filled with potato, pecorino, and fresh mint. Served on tomato sugo with a snow of grated cheese.
Every pleat is closed by hand the way Sardinian grandmothers have been doing it for generations.

It's slow work. It's the only way.

A pasta special on our May menu. Until it's gone.

For a long time, All You Can Eat has been a fixture at Alba.

Many of you discovered us through it, and we'll always be grateful for that.

But Alba is growing, and we feel it's time to tell our story in a different way. So this May will be the final month of All You Can Eat — your last chance to enjoy it the way you've always loved it.

From June, we're launching a new format. One that's closer to who we really are: a Southern Italian table, made of generous dishes, family recipes, and the warmth of Salento. We'll keep what matters most to us making Alba accessible but we'll finally be able to show you Alba for what it truly is.

We think you're going to love it even more.

Before we say goodbye, you still have two more chances to enjoy All You Can Eat with us — Monday 18 and Monday 25 May.

Fregola con le vongole. 🌊

Toasted Sardinian semolina pearls, fresh clams, garlic, white wine, a whisper of chilli, and the sea.

This is a dish that doesn't need to shout. It just needs to be eaten slowly, with someone you love, and a glass of wine.

Our pasta special for May.
Available all month, until it's gone.

If it's your first time at Alba, here's exactly what to order.

No guessing. No menu anxiety. Just the dishes we'd put in front of anyone walking through our door for the first time.

Start with the Pittule — fried dough pillows from Lecce, the kind you don't find anywhere else in Sydney. Crispy outside, cloud-soft inside. They disappear fast.

Then the Parmigiana di Melanzane. Not a side dish. Not an afterthought. A full, slow-cooked expression of Southern Italian cooking — layered, rich, and made the way it's done at home in Salento.

For your main: Lamb Ragù. Deep flavour, long-cooked, the kind of dish that makes you forget everything else on the table.

To finish: Tiramisù. Classic. No twists. Just done properly.

Four dishes. One table. One evening you'll want to repeat.

There’s always that one friend who says
“I’m chill tonight.”
That’s the ricotta, fig & almond. 🤍

And then there’s the one who orders shots for the whole table.
’Nduja & stracciatella. 🔥

Bruschetta Queta or Bruschetta Paccia?
Which one are you tonight? 🤌

Vodka pasta? Not in this kitchen.

This is how we eat in Puglia: big plates in the middle, slow-cooked meats, seafood that tastes like the coast, eggplant done properly.

If you’ve never had Italian food like this, this is your start.

If you have… you already know. 🤌🍷

17/03/2026

So we brought the whole thing.
We call it Spallona 3 Salse, a whole lamb shoulder, slow-roasted, served with three house sauces and potatoes.

It’s technically made to share…
but we come from the South. We don’t count portions. 🤌

Bring friends. 🍷

In Italy, Easter means one thing:
the whole family around the same table.

Lasagna in the oven.
Lamb roasting with garlic and rosemary.
Wine already being poured.

That’s the feeling we’re bringing to Alba.
A 4-course Easter long lunch —
Lasagna della Domenica, slow-roasted lamb, and Pastiera to finish.

We’d love to have you at the table. 🤌

10/03/2026

This is our love language. ❤️
Eggplant Parmigiana, made the same way we do it in the South.
If you still haven’t tried it… we need to talk.

09/03/2026

Every morning, fresh pasta.🍝

This rigatoni meets our 12-hour lamb ragù: slow, rich, cooked in red wine the way it’s meant to be.

If lamb is your thing, you already know.

Swipe left to see how we finish dinner at Alba 🤤
Quick note: I bet you’ve never had a pavlova like this.
Sicilian sheep’s ricotta, fig purée, toasted almonds.

First reaction: “Ricotta?”
Second reaction: “Wait… this is my favourite.”

This month we’re cooking Calabria.

Every month we bring you around one region from the South of Italy — so you don’t have to travel all the way there to taste it.

Antipasto
P**i e patani cu l’ovu — sweet friggitelli peppers and potatoes, finished with fried egg.

Primo
Sagne e mulinciani — homemade pasta with silky eggplant purée and Calabrian ’nduja.

Secondo
Baccalà alla Calabrisa — slow-cooked salt cod with olive oil, capers and chilli.

Dolce
Frittuli duci di nonna — golden fried dough with orange honey.

March specials are on. 🤌

02/03/2026

In Italy, the only rule at the table was this:
If you’re still hungry, we’re not done.

The only Italian all you can eat you need.
Every Monday. $45 per person.

Come hungry. We’ll take care of the rest. 🤌

Down South we have one rule: if it tastes good, make it a polpetta.
So here they are, eggplant, fried, swimming in tomato sauce, ready to disappear in seconds.
And yes, they’re so good you’ll forget the meat version ever happened.
