Meet the man behind Palwan’s Catering & Events.

Our founder, Imran Butt, was born and raised in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan, where he became a national gold medallist in judo. Known as a “Palwan” – a title given to wrestlers and champions known for their strength, discipline and dedication – the name has been part of his story for decades.

Thirty years ago, Imran moved to Sydney with a dream and a passion for food. Since then, he has spent over three decades working in some of Sydney’s leading Indian restaurants and function centres, mastering the art of authentic Indian and Pakistani cuisine.

Today, Palwan’s is a family-run business that brings together our Indian and Pakistani heritage, creating unforgettable food and memorable moments for every celebration.
