BREAKING NEWS !!!!!! - Pizza Lucio has been toppled!!!!!
By who?: 'Via Napoli' - If you haven't already heard of this place then you can thank us that you now do, for those of you that do know this place then this has been a long time coming! Just to give you a little hin on how good this place is, Luigi the owner is part of the two major accredited pizza associations; The AVNP (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana and Associazione Regina Margherita. They can't be wrong right?
Where is it?: 'Via Napoli' - 3/141 Longueville Road Lane Cove. Plenty of parking surrounding the Pizzeria and at night the Public School metres down the hill leave there gate open with plenty of parks available.
Whats so good about it?: Ok here it is... From sitting down at your table to paying the bill your greeted with smiles and friendly waiters/waitresses, all sporting thick and loud Italian accents (You may be excused for thinking your in the heart of Norton Street!). Adding to that there's an energetic and lively vibe to it and can get loud, not to the point where it is overbearing but just at the point to notice. For example there was a moment where a waiter dropped and broke a plate and everybody clapped and cheered then carried on! Good to see!
Get to the Pizza your saying!!!....Ok, with all the top Pizzeria's in Sydney in mind we can say, with conviction, that on the 24 February 2013 the best Pizza in Sydney is Via Napoli. Reasons are quite simple, quality of dough and quality of ingredients. The Pizza was almost faultless the only criticism (and yes I am nit picking) that I can say about the Pizza is the Quattro Pizza was a tad too moist at the point. But hey thats nit picking!
What to eat?: - We recommend the Diavola, this I can tell you was faultless, and we highly recommend the large Antipasto platter. However if you are attending with a group, and this is adds to the great vibe of this place, you can order half-metre and metre Pizzas in addition to the standard 13 inch! Great touch we think, we looked around and everyone really enjoyed the large Pizzas
How Much?: - We had a large Antipasto platter, two Pizzas, two nice glasses of wine and two Piccolo coffee's and the total came to $106. I can say though we were pretty full and very satisfied.
Check this place out hunters a MUST on the Pizza list
Enjoy,
