Hey Freshie 🤍 This is going be a difficult post to share with you all.
A year and a half ago I thought to myself “wow I can’t believe Freshwater doesn’t have an organic cafe or wholefoods store!” And after many nights up till 3am madly conceptualising vision boards of a Scandinavian inspired, minimalistic space I built the plans for Veda- a business that would nourish and educate the local community, and exactly that we did! I poured my entire heart and soul into this project and couldn’t be prouder with what was created.
2021 wasn’t easy for anyone. I was aware at the time that what was happening in the world may have been an issue on this new venture, however I could never have imagined nor foreseen both the duration of last years lockdown which took up 50% of our entire trading time, and the impacts it had on the businesses momentum in such a critical time as a startup. While I am incredibly proud to have made as far as we did against all odds, I am heartbroken to have to say we will no longer be trading.
If you have a dream, this is your sign to go for it. Don’t wait for the perfect time- if there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s that there’s no such thing. If it doesn’t work out for you, you’re simply one step closer to finding what will, and the learning along the way will be truely invaluable. I’m immensely grateful for this experience, the special connections I’ve made and I look forward to focusing on my studies to become an Ayurvedic practitioner this year and seeing where it takes me.
I want to thank my amazing team of staff, and all those involved who helped me both create and sustain this beautiful space that was really a dream come true. I hope you all will continue supporting small businesses out there in these challenging times.
