Join us on the 16th of June for this month's Ale Stars with special guest Head Brewer from Barbarian Brewing, Mat Maddox!

It's hard to miss the iconic bright yellow building of the Barbarian Brewery just off the Princess Highway. With the doors opening in late 2023, they've wasted no time building a strong reputation within the Western Melb community!

Originally working for Two Birds Brewery, Mat is now leading the charge as Head Brewer at the Baa. He's crafting up something for everyone at this brewery, with their season range tapping into influences from Founder Pete's English background, and their core range leaving you craving more.

We'll be getting into all the nitty gritty of the brewing process, inspirations, stories and more! As well as beer trivia and a great feed!

Before we kick off Brewers and Chewers, Join us the night before on the 12th of May for this month's Ale Stars with special guest Charlotte Freeston from Feral Brewing!

Charlotte has been with Feral as head of brewing and innovation for just over a year now, and was a key instrument in the brewery's "re-wilding" rebrand back in 2025.

With plenty of stories picked up along the way to chat about, Charlotte brings her decade long experience stemming from the UK with Beavertown, then working with Beerfarm in WA.

Her passion and creativity within the industry is proven strong, with her being awarded the Rising Star Award at the 2025 Beer & Brewer awards!

Charlotte will be bringing along some Feral classics, including Hop Hog, to celebrate it's 18th birthday this year!
