Farewell St Kilda... unfortunately we must confirm that we will not be reopening our restaurant again. You can still visit the OG Monroe's Burgers & Beers in Healesville, though at this time we have exhausted every legal avenue at our disposal to save our second store.
We remain incredibly disappointed and appalled by the landlordโs actions over the entirety of 2020.
The past 12 months have been the most challenging thing we have faced in our time in business, weโd like to say a huge thank you to our family, friends, team members, suppliers, our customers and the local communities of Healesville and St Kilda, for their support over these tough times, especially during the dark days and extreme uncertainty.
Please continue to support small business, whilst some are coming back strong, many of our friends in the industry are still doing it tough.
To every landlord who acted with integrity and compassion to support their tenants through 2020, we share a heartfelt thank you from the businesses youโve saved (this includes our landlord in Healesville), we hope that you and your tenants have an incredibly prosperous future together.
To any landlords who have unethically fought tooth and nail to avoid providing rent relief, or attempted to squeeze money out of struggling tenants, we offer a heartfelt F**K YOU, on behalf of small business owners, their families, and their employees. ๐
This isnโt goodbye forever, we now have a whole burger jointโs worth of equipment in storage, you can bet that once we financially rebound from this dumpster fire weโll be looking for the next exciting opportunity.
In the meantime, weโd love for you to make a day trip out to the beautiful Yarra Valley for a burger, some craft beer, or to smash some cocktails in our new beer garden.
Thank you to everyone who made our short stay in St Kilda such a blast, we hope to see you again soon.
