There is something deliciously attractive about drinking good w**e with abandon in a busy, cosy, well-run Acland Street restaurant on a balmy Saturday night. You bump into people you haven't seen for years. And after the w**e and food have taken proper hold, you introduce yourself to people who had perhaps planned on a slightly more private dinner that particular night (sorry about that, famous comedienne and partner). It's what I'd call a proper night out.
