There is something deliciously attractive about drinking good wine with abandon in a busy, cosy, well-run Acland Street restaurant on a balmy Saturday night. You bump into people you haven't seen for years. And after the wine and food have taken proper hold, you introduce yourself to people who had perhaps planned on a slightly more private dinner that particular night (sorry about that, famous comedienne and partner). It's what I'd call a proper night out.
