Named after the gypsy travellers of Europe, Gitan is the cuisine of a contemporary French bistro that takes influence from the surrounding European countries. Set in an old Victorian building & located in Melbourne’s South Yarra right opposite Fawkner park, with close proximity to the city and public transport. Bistro Gitan is a restaurant that provides excellent food, a constantly changing & creative wine list, and a relaxed atmosphere for those both dining, or just visiting for a drink. At Bistro Gitan we’re celebrating a French, family style format of eating which is very flexible. The idea behind it is to create a dinner table just as it would be for a family in France.
