The wait is over, Bay Roots (in the old Mrs Birdy site) is opening its doors to a patient and excited SGB community. Open Friday and Saturday for coffee and juice bar, food starts Sunday. Come along and support this latest incarnation of the space. We will see you there….as customers!

We get asked a lot now, “how’s retirement?” We are not quite retired yet.
We miss the people that came to visit us at the bird but our new ventures are keeping us busy. So no retirement yet!
Kate’s directing the new BANGALOW THEATRE COMPANYs musical, Come from away…tickets on sale now. As well as working full time for clearlight saunas.

From humble beginnings to a thriving community hub. Mrs birdy final handover today is filled with mixed emotions. 2920 days of service. 67 staff. 2 floods. Covid. A cyclone. It’s been epic! Thankyou to all who helped get us out of our family run business. Special thanks to Kirsten, bretto, Maxxy, tom, Glenno, Jeannie and all the family. Extra Special thanks to a very special lady Chrissie Lomas who helped us get in 8 years ago, worked tirelessly for us for all 8 years and showed up every day at the end to get the clean down done. You mean the world to us Chrissie Thankyou for everything you do for the foster mob. Thankyou sgb for having us. Wishing the new crew all the best for the new incarnation of the space. Come in and support these new faces and show them the love that you have shown us. Stay tuned for the Mrs birdy recipe book to be published soon, with all your favorites included.
