Delicious!!! Shop!! Best Takeaway in Mornington

You know what place never let me down?

The Old Dots Diner in Mornington.

Back in the day, this place wasn’t just a takeaway shop. It was basically an unlicensed emergency department for people who’d made terrible decisions the night before.

There were mornings I’d wake up with a hangover so violent I genuinely thought my body was beginning the shutdown procedure.

Head pounding. Mouth like I’d eaten a full ashtray. Stomach making noises normally associated with plumbing emergencies.

And there was only one treatment.
A cold can of full-sugar Coca-Cola and a schnitzel sandwich.

Not a bottle of Coke either. A can. Important distinction. That first CRACK was basically a defibrillator.

Then the schnitty sandwich.

Nothing fancy. No artisan sourdough. No truffle aioli. No micro-herbs placed on top with fu***ng tweezers.

Just a proper takeaway-shop schnitzel sandwich that somehow had the medical capability to take you from:

“I am never drinking again.” to “What’s everyone doing tonight?” in approximately 25 minutes.

I haven’t been in there for bloody years, but I drove past the other day and immediately remembered just how many times that little building dragged me back from the gates of hell.

Some places give you memories. Some places give you nostalgia.
Dots gave me a second chance at life on multiple occasions. And for that, I will never forget her. 😂
