Two weeks ago I shared that I was moving to Yaringa Marina. I didn’t expect what came back. The messages, the shares, the stories of nights spent at Ouest. It told me something I needed to hear: I’m not making this move alone.

To everyone who has sat at my table at Ouest, merci. You are the reason there is a next chapter.

On Thursday 15 October, Captain Jacques opens its doors in Somerville. Come for opening night, then come back for the long lunches, the slow dinners and everything after.

We’re back, and Wednesday nights are looking good again.

After our little winter break, the fire is lit, the kitchen is humming, and for the next two weeks, every $55 woodfired meal includes a complimentary glass of house w**e.

We’ll be back on deck from 1 July and firing up the woodfire again for Wednesday Woodfire.

Last week Cptn Jack’s hosted the Mornington Peninsula’s only Burlesque dinner show — and it was a night we won’t forget in a hurry.

Feathers. Sequins. Three courses. A lot of Prosecco. And performances that had the room absolutely captivated.

To everyone who came — thank you. You made the room 🖤
