⚡ A QUICK UPDATE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS ⚡

Yesterday’s power outage and subsequent power surge unfortunately managed to fry our Starlink! 😩💥

We’ve got a workaround in place so we can still take EFTPOS payments this weekend, but for the time being we don’t have customer WiFi available.

Because we also have very limited phone reception out here, we recommend if you’re heading our way this weekend:

💵 Bring some cash if you can
💳 Bring your physical bank card
📱 If you’re using your phone to pay, consider topping up your account or making sure everything is set up before you leave home

We’re waiting on the replacement parts and are hoping to have everything fully back up and running next week 🤞

Last week was another big week of catering, with so many orders coming out of the Tickle Belly Hill kitchen!

Our corporate lunch boxes have been especially popular - individually packed with plenty of delicious bits and pieces to make lunchtime easy for busy teams 🥪🍫

And then there have been the sweets... and LOTS of them! 🧁🍪

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS SHARLISSA! 🎉

We’re so incredibly proud to announce that our Head Chef, Sharlissa, has been named a finalist in the Port Augusta Business Centre Employee of the Year category for the Rowe Partners Port Augusta Outstanding Business Awards 2025–2026! 🥳👏

Sharlissa has come such a long way during her time with us — from starting out in our kitchen to completing her Cert IV in Cookery and stepping into her role as our Head Chef.

She now plays a huge part in our day-to-day operations, from ordering and stock control to menu development, special events and, of course, keeping our busy kitchen running!

Her hard work, commitment and willingness to keep learning have been a huge part of our growth over the past 18 months, and we couldn’t be prouder to see her recognised alongside some of Port Augusta’s incredible local employees. ❤️

For an afternoon 50 guests will have the rare opportunity to step aboard one of the beautifully restored Commissioner's carriages "Flinders, Sturt or Light” and enjoy an unforgettable journey through the spectacular Pichi Richi Pass.
These carriage were specially designed so senior railway officials could inspect the railway in comfort while travelling through regional South Australia.
On Friday 25 September, you'll experience this remarkable piece of living history behind heritage locomotive YX141, travelling from Quorn to the beautiful Tickle Belly Hill.

Along the way, our passionate volunteers will share fascinating stories and unique commentary about the Commissioner's Train, the railway and the rich history of the Pichi Richi Pass, making this much more than a train journey—it's a step back in time.

After arriving at Tickle Belly Hill, relax and enjoy a delicious Australian themed afternoon tea, and the warm country hospitality the venue is renowned for before returning to Quorn.

Whether you're fascinated by railway history, love heritage travel or simply enjoy unique South Australian experiences, this promises to be an afternoon to remember.

From sweet to savoury, it was a busy week of scones!

☕️ Some enjoyed fresh in the cafe with a coffee
🍓 Some as part of some special High Teas
🌿 And plenty heading out for catering orders
