The evenings are getting longer, and we know exactly where we’d like to spend them. The window seat, a glass of something local, and a front-row view of Main Street - it's the best people watching in town.

We’re here tonight for the Friday set menu, and open all weekend right through to Monday. Come and claim the window while you can.

The menu's done for pasta night and Stewart's happy 😊

Here's what's on tomorrow night:
- potato + spinach stuffed conchiglioni+ rich tomato sauce, cheesy béchamel + crisp prosciutto
- rigatoni with lemon + basil pesto, creamy ricotta + toasted pine nuts
- fettuccine with pork and fennel bolognaise
- gnocchi with smoky pumpkin, blue cheese + crispy sage
- salmon ravioli with citrus beurre blanc + tomato concassé

$40 for your choice of pasta and a glass of w**e, with starters, sides and sweets as always. Can't pick just one? Bring someone and share 🍝🥂

Pasta night is back this Thursday 8th October 🍝🍷

It's on the second Thursday of each month now, and having a month between each one gives the kitchen more time to play. The pasta is made in-house, there are five new dishes every time, and it's $40 for your choice of pasta and a glass of w**e. Stewart's still doing the 'one more tweak, one more taste' thing until he's happy with the menu, so you'll see it when we do - hopefully Wednesday🤞

Clocks went forward overnight, so if you're running an hour behind this morning, you're in good company. Brunch runs late today, and lunch can be as long as you like. Come late, take it slow, we'll have the coffee ready.

Spring's here, the courtyard's open, and we're giving it an afternoon.

On Sunday 18th October we're celebrating Spring with an English Country Garden lunch. The long, unhurried kind that runs from midday well into the afternoon and asks nothing of you but good company.

A Pimm's in hand as you arrive, then four courses brought to the table to share. The menu moves with the season - think asparagus and the first spring peas, a whole poached salmon down the middle of the table, slow-roast spring lamb to follow, and berries to finish.

Cottage flowers, good glassware, the courtyard in full spring, and nowhere else to be.

Look what came in the mail today!
We won the Cafe Dining category in the 2026 Victorian Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence. And for the second year in a row - we must be doing something right.
We weren't able to make it down to the awards night last week. Someone had to be here, and there was a cooking school to run the next day.
So it came by post instead. Such a lovely way to start off the week!
Thank you to our wonderful customers for every table you fill, and to our fabulous team who make it all happen. It's as much yours as ours x

This month's cooking school went Moroccan and North African.
Spice, colour, and plenty of chopping and stirring.
A hands on morning, a long lunch, and everyone a bit chuffed with what they'd made.

Pasta night is back this Thursday - it’s monthly now on the second Thursday of every month, so this is the one to keep free.

Stewart’s list for the 10th:
- pappardelle, lamb, red w**e + olive ragu
- spicy zucchini + ricotta baked conchiglioni
- pennoni, sausage, mustard + basil
- prawn ravioli, lemon + garlic cream
- gnocchi, spinach cream, peas, asparagus + whipped ricotta

That's Stewart. Better with a pan than a tray, but we let him out for special occasions.

Father's Day is this Sunday. If you've been meaning to treat Dad and haven't got round to booking, here's where things stand: not much left for Sunday lunch, but there's still room at brunch. And Saturday's open too — lunch or dinner, both quieter than the Sunday rush, and Dad gets looked after either way.

And if a booking isn't happening, a voucher is a fine save. Dad doesn't need to know it was decided at 6pm on a Friday.
