Rutherglen lost another good person last week and if you or anyone knew Rod he had that infectious loud laugh that made you join in on the joke. I spent a few rides with Rod over the years and even had the experience of riding hard tail on his new deluxe from Yarrawonga and Rutherglen after my bike broke down. No padding just my bum on steel. I remember by the time we hit the 60 zone of Rutherglen I could no longer feel my body below my lower back and struggled to actually stand up. Had a bloody good laugh that day and a great day. But we always spoke about the two tone shovel he sold to get the Deluxe he loved so much. It was brown and cream and remind us if the old poster in the 80s called Sugar shack. A two tone k model Kenworth. We may not have been close in the last few years but when our paths crossed we always had that smile and nods of the head to know that we shared time together as mates when needed. For anyone who shared time with Rod below or the details of his farewell. Please come and join with everyone to celebrate his life and share with everyone your recollection of your times with him. Through story and laughter we will keep him forever 53 in our hearts and minds.
