DT’s Lovers, your fav venue now in its 31st year has had five owners throughout its time, but a constant that stayed the same for the first 24 years was having Bar Manager Bruce Mckenzie at the helm. Sadly in 2019 we lost this dear human to a sudden illness and in memory of Bruce together with his then partner Akira Jonai & DT’s we hold a remembrance day in his honor 💕

For many Bruce was the very first person nervous punters met when starting their journey discovering themselves in the LGBTIQ+ community.

One of Bruce's fears when he became ill was that he was worried that people would no longer remember him. If you knew Bruce, you'd recognise the irony in that statement. Bruce was not a man whom you could easily forget. ❤️

Bruce's favourite day of the week was hosting DT's iconic SPIN & WIN Sunday session and as his birthday falls just a couple days earlier, his partner Akira invites you to catch up on Sunday 12 July, in remembering the great man, have a chat, a few drinks and to have a bit of fun while doing so. Just don't spin up number 1! 😱
