BLOWN AWAY by your feedback on our brand refresh.

Last week, I shared Flyover’s brand and packaging refresh ahead of our 5th birthday in Redfern. Indian food, culture and art has come a long way in Australia, in the last ten years. I am so proud of the contribution Flyover has had in this journey.

This year has been a true milestone in many ways and to mark this moment, we enlisted the help of designer extraordinaire Stuart Torkington to bring the ever evolving brand Flyover to life.

We’re blown away by the reactions everyone has had to this project. So many of you asked to know more about Stuart’s inspiration so sharing a bit of his beautiful vision behind this work.

A GLOW UP FOR FLYOVER ~ as we inch closer to 5 years in Redfern, the color and energy around Indian vegetarian food and Flyover’s journey in creating it feels stronger than ever.

So we enlisted the help of one of our favorite Sydney creatives Stuart Torkington to bring this moment to life. Stuart was inspired by architecture of Flyovers in india to create a font and color set that celebrates the ever evolving, force of energy that is India’s streetfood culture.

We are so thrilled that many of you who’ve seen our new packaging over the last few days have loved it. We can’t wait for more of you to experience it this Diwali ❤️.

CHAAT SHOW AT SYDNEY FRINGE ~ last week was a huge milestone moment for Flyover Fritterie. It began earlier this year with my dearest Jennifer Wong saying “hey, how about we host a chat show and serve chaat and talk about Indian food?”. A delicious idea to begin with…but I don’t think I paid attention to how lucky I need to be, to put something like this together.

As a plate of chaat is team work between crunchy things, tangy chutneys, herbs, fruits and a myriad of garnishes - all doing their own heavy lifting - this chat show too ended up being exactly that. A lot of people showed up to make it happen, to make sure we got every detail right.

❤️My darling team at Flyover - who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to cook for their biggest crowd yet - Handling any roadblocks on your own, making Flyover stand prouder and taller than it ever has

❤️The Sydney fringe production team- who got every last detail right. The tickets, the timelines, the flow, the fonts - and so much more that I will never be privy to Monstera Creative

❤️The guests - Depinder Chhibber Suraj Kolarkar it was such an honor to share the stage with you both. What an engaging, meaningful time we all had together and I can’t wait to announce our ‘cardamom podcast’

❤️The audience- a huge thank you to everyone who came and actually made it a show. Your open hearts, generosity and love for Indian food made me believe once again that Flyover is on the right path.

❤️Last but not the least Jennifer Wong ~ it was the greatest privilege to see you in action behind the scenes. What a master of your craft you are - meticulously planning details for months, delivering your sharp wit on stage, carrying your guests with grace through all situations that happen on stage, being a good friend and most importantly all the belly laughs. Proving once again that it’s not about the destination, or the journey, but the people.

None of this happened in a day. It happened over a decade. I am beyond grateful to be here - Gunjan.
