STAFF UPDATE

While we may be closed, we thought many of you might want to know what happened to our lovely staff.

We are thrilled to say that Trish and many of our old team have been employed by Embrace Disability Group.

Trish let us know that while it has been a big couple of weeks of learning for the team at the school, they are now settling in and finding their new routines.

“For many of them, school wasn’t a pleasant experience, so we’re helping them to help shape the future of community spirit, by showing other students, both with and without disabilities, that there are many ways to succeed after finishing school,” Trish said.

So, while you mightn’t get to see their faces everyday, you can still support them by ordering catering from Embrace.

🛎️ RING THE BELL 🛎️

Earlier this week we said farewell to Robbie as he finished his last shift at Bean Central.

Whilst somewhat shy when he first started with us, Robbie has grown so much in confidence and is one of the most loved members of our team by customers and staff alike.

Charismatic, funny and always well presented, Robbie has never forgotten a single order in all his time with us.

Robbie did however, have a fondness of ringing the kitchen bell…for any reason! Whether it was to alert us to a new customer, to tell Matt to stop singing in the kitchen, or when he had busted Trish eating chips in the kitchen, the sound of the dinging bell would echo through the cafe, followed by laughter!

Thanks for being part of the team, Robbie, we have loved working with you!

Terry will be there on the night to talk about the great work his foundation does and will also talk about the current Special Forces Challenge that is underway to help a select bunch of youth tackle Kokoda in the new year.

Today we introduce you to another one of our incredible team who has proven herself to be a real hospitality superstar!

Meet, Emily.

Pictured here with her friend and mentor, Trish, Em has fast become the warmest greeter of customers and a real exemplar of true customer service.

When she started with us, Em worked three hours per week. But now, as her skills and confidence have grown, Em works three days per week at the cafe.

From greeting customers and taking orders, through to making basic coffees and keeping the place tidy, no job has ever been too hard for our Em!
