It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news that our beloved Mo has passed away.

We are heartbroken by his passing and incredibly grateful for the love, kindness and support that our customers and community have shown our family throughout this time.

As we take some time to come to terms with this loss and be together as a family, we hope you’ll understand if we are a little quieter than usual over the coming days.

Thank you to everyone who has loved Mo and made him feel at home at The Mill. He will be deeply missed. 🤍

To our beautiful friends, family and Mill community,

As many of you know, our beloved Mo has been courageously battling mesothelioma. He has recently made the decision to return home to Syria, where he wishes to spend his remaining time surrounded by his homeland and loved ones.

Before he leaves, we'd love to invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life and give everyone the opportunity to share a coffee, a story, a laugh and let Mo know just how loved he is.

We will be gathering at The Mill tomorrow from 10:00am–12:00pm and we'd love for anyone who has shared a part of Mo’s journey to join us.

To our beautiful Mill community,

Many of you know and love Mo whether it’s from seeing him around the café, sharing a chat over coffee, sharing a laugh or simply being part of the heart and soul that has made The Mill what it is today.

Over the past few months, our family has been navigating some incredibly difficult news. Mo has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and his health has declined very quickly. Since beginning treatment he has faced a number of serious complications and is currently very unwell in hospital.

This has been an overwhelming and heartbreaking time for all of us. The Mill has always been more than just a cafe to us, it’s been built on community, connection and the people who walk through our doors every day. Because of that, we wanted to share honestly with the people who have supported our family for so many years.

You may notice us seeming a little quieter than usual, a little emotional, or maybe the cafe vibes not quite vibing the same lately and we hope you can understand that our hearts are very heavy at the moment. We are all doing our best to keep showing up while supporting Mo and each other through this incredibly hard time.

We also ask for a little extra patience and kindness during this period. If we seem distracted, make mistakes or things aren’t quite as perfect as usual, please know we are trying our absolute best. We truly appreciate your understanding and the chance to correct any errors with grace while we navigate everything happening behind the scenes.

The love and support we’ve already received has meant more than we can properly put into words. Every message, prayer, coffee, hug and kind thought has truly carried us through some very heavy days.

A number of people have asked how they can help support Mo and our family during this time, so we have created a GoFundMe to help ease some of the financial pressure surrounding treatment, hospital stays and time away from work. There is absolutely no expectation but if you would like to support or share it, we are deeply grateful.

🎄🎅🏻 THE MILL CAFE Christmas Trading Hours 🎄🎅🏻

The mill Cafe will be closed from the 23rd December until the 25th December 2024. We will reopen 6am -1:30pm ( Thursday) 26th December till 29th December (Sunday).

And closed from 30th December- 1st January 2025 and reopen 6am-1.30 am on (Thursday) 2nd January 2025.
