Ok, here we go our darlings. This is very hard for us to write, because still last year we vowed this will never happen but..earlier this year we put our beloved business Mekko Market and Cafe for sale due to (happy) personal reasons🩷
We have now accepted an offer and with that we would like to announce that Australia's first rent a rack market is closing permanently, Sunday 7th December 2025 being our last day operating🥹
It's been a long journey and we are so happy and grateful that on a sunny day in January 2018, we had the courage ('sisu' as we Finns like to call it), to take a huge step and sign a lease to a big tenancy, the kind of property we could fit 2 business in 1!
Little did we know what we started would become a fast growing concept that is now massively popular all around Australia!
That is something we can forever be proud of and an achievement we don't probably give ourselves enough credit for.
We thank you all from the bottom our our hearts for making our business as successful as it is, but now it's time for new beginnings🤗
This is definitely not a goodbye, but a see you later, and we would love to see you all before we close our doors.
And who knows, if we find the right property, Mekko 2.0 might reopen sometime in the future😉
