Two years today we closed the doors for the last time with so many mixed emotions and a lot of uncertainty of what lay ahead.
Well to say what has happened in life to us all we would never have thought back then that we would not be able to travel freely in our own country
But as we all go through our own battles we learn life has to keep going
We have been living on kangaroo island since January and for the past couple of weeks I have been Learning how to drive a harvester in blue gum and enjoying it so much.
I’m learning that if given an opportunity to do something new grab it with both hands and trust yourself

12 months ago this week Geoff and I closed the door to Hildys Cakes for the last time, packed up our home said goodbye to our kids and family took a very deep breath moved to NSW and started a new chapter in our lives, I can honestly say it has been so much more then I ever expected. There are days I miss it, there are customers I think about and miss so very much but I know in my heart that we made the right choices for our future. There are days when I have no clue what or how I feel but life is to be lived to the fullest and to think back even just two years ago I never would have thought we would be here, if someone had of said I would be getting up at 2.30 each morning driving a forwarder and loading trucks I would have laughed, so I tell myself to push today so I can get closer to where I want to be as it can all change in a heart beat, and we don’t get today ever again. I still smile and want to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single person that came through the door of Hildys and made it a very special part of my life by allowing me to be apart of all your families celebrations.

So this is now what I’m doing in NSW.
I’m learning to drive a forwarder Geoff is being very patient with me,
just a little different from cake making but I’m loving every minute of it
