This September and October, Adelaide based soul-stirring singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist JAMIE LENA KERSLAKE offers audiences an intimate, early preview of her highly anticipated debut alt-folk record, The Ruins of an Over-Enthused Heart.

The Ruins of an Over-Enthused Heart serves as a container for the compulsory human experience of examining and excavating old habits. Mixed and mastered by Nick Herrera (Emma Donovan, Danika, Nai Palm), this record is a gentle yet persistent unravelling of inherited beliefs about relationship, grief and politics.

While the recorded album boasts gracious strings, full band arrangements, and sleek backing vocals, this tour brings each song back to its roots - just Jamie, her intricate guitar arrangements, and a voice likened to “milk and honey”. Audiences will experience the tunes as they were written; at once a knife, and salve, and an elixir.

Jamie has played festivals such as St Kilda Festival, and Womadelaide, and supported artists including Ruby Mary Gill, Jack Davies, and Allysha Joy. Her debut EP earned airplay on triple j, landed in APRA’s top 10 Regional Charts, and gained recognition in the South Australian music awards.

Jamie will be supported by local talent, mikk.

We can’t wait to welcome Jamie and Mikk to our gorgeous venue this Oct long weekend for a night of wonderful music.

Brit is an absolute powerhouse, a hilarious legend and an elite-level hospo queen. She absolutely SLEIGHS that coffee machine like no one I’ve ever seen!

But it’s not just the coffees and the fun chaos. Brit is also the kind ear, the good advice, and the person who’s always got a hug when times are tough. ❤️

She brings so much heart to the team, somehow balancing elite hospo skills with an enormous amount of care, kindness and very good laughs.

We bloody love you!

Keep It Human: Our “No Al Slop” Policy 🙅‍♀️

As the graphic designer who built this cafe’s visual identity from the ground up, I need to talk about something weighing heavily on my soul.
Effective immediately, our cafe has a strict “NO AI SLOP” policy for any promotional material in our space or involving our business.

Every logo, poster, sign, menu, postcard, coffee bean package and t-shirt you see here is the result of genuine human effort and care. The current flood of low-effort, Al-generated imagery isn’t just threatening the creative industry, it is crushing the soul of the craft. Al replaces deliberate human choices with thoughtless, mass-produced approximations, and frankly, it is heartbreaking to watch.

To protect the integrity of our space and support genuine artists, our rules are simple:
No Al Flyers: We will not display or distribute any community flyers or posters that use Al “art”.
No Al Collaborations: Any brand, vendor, or event partnering with us must provide strictly human-created promotional materials.

Hospitality is fundamentally human.
The drinks we pour, the food we make and the art we share should reflect real people putting in real work. We want our cafe to remain a sanctuary for authenticity, not a billboard for algorithms.
