I love it when a fantastic wine, albeit seen as an alternative variety, like this Humis Vineyard Marsanne find a place on a highly awarded local wine list. Tanya and Liz from the Merrijig Inn & Merrijig Kitchen, Port Fairy, are huge supporters of small, family owned Victorian wineries who aim for quality over volume. Humis winemaker Missy Jones is a fabulous human and an equally fabulous and innnovative winemaker. It is such a pleasure to represent all of their wines in the South West.

Way back in the 90’s as a young chef in London, Tanya worked under another Aussie, Dan Lepard who was a huge encouragement to her.
Since that time, Dan has authored some fabulous baking cookbooks and it is his recipe we make everyday to lay on the table to start each meal.
Everyone who has worked in Tanya’s kitchen knows how to make this recipe - some better than others! (I’m pointing my finger at myself)
If you have been to the Merrijig Kitchen over the past 15 years - you have eaten Dan’s fabulous focaccia.
We are never not going to be making it daily! It’s is simply the best! If you haven’t had it yet- we can’t wait to see you!
We’re open for dinner Friday to Monday nights from 6pm.
That’s the origin story of our daily bread!

Hello Friends,
That’s a wrap on our 15th season at the Merrijig. We are now closed for our annual holidays. We plan to reopen on Friday 12 June.
Again, thanks to everyone who supported our small business over the past 12 months! It’s been quite a challenge navigating the macro, whilst our fabulous team has made the micro happen!!
We are looking forward to our 15th Birthday when we reopen when we get to dream it all up again!
Until then, we eat, we drink, we explore and we rest!!
