Walsh's Pyramid 30 mins south of Cairns is an impressive granite peak, rising to 922 meters above sea level & renowned as the world's highest freestanding natural pyramid. 🌄🥾

A favorite among hikers, the round trip is approximately 6 kilometers, with steep inclines that test even seasoned climbers. However, the panoramic views from the top, showcasing the lush rainforests, rolling hills, and the distant Coral Sea, make every step worthwhile.

"We have just returned from a week in Port Douglas where we stayed at the Martinique on Macrossan Apartments.
Ken & Colin warmly welcomed us all (3 couples) and ensured that our stay was comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing.
The rooms were clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The apartments were located in a perfect spot for us - not too close to the potential noise of Macrossan Street but not so far away that a car was needed to get around.
But it was the little touches that made our stay. The common area contained an ice machine, filtered water, mozzie deterrent spray, a barbecue with all the required accessories and, delightfully, a suitcase filled with holiday reading matter!
We couldn't resist enjoying our drinks and nibbles in the common area most nights, followed by a short walk to dinner afterwards. One night we lit up the barbecue and filled the air with the smell of cooked steak, onions and fresh local corn on the cob. A perfect end to a beautiful day!
