In Punjabi homes, nobody asks if you're okay. They ask if you've eaten. "Roti khaa li?" It's the same question, just asked differently. It means I see you. It means I care.

So today, from all of us at Delhi 2 Lahore: have you eaten? And how are you going, really?

Why did Chef Jaspreet start Delhi 2 Lahore?

Perth already had plenty of Indian restaurants. But nobody was serving the food he grew up on. The street food of Punjab. The roadside grills, the tandoors, the flavours every Punjabi kid remembers and every Punjabi adult still misses.

So he built a place that serves it. No shortcuts, no watering it down.

And it was never just for the Punjabi community. Jaspreet believes the best way to share a culture is over a plate of food. Come in, ask questions, try something new. That's the whole idea.

The Tandoori Bater turning over the coals. The Desi Murga cooked the way it was cooked back home. He's been telling you about these flavours for years. Sunday, he gets to taste them again.
