We’re incredibly proud to share a very special achievement for the Mamak Goreng family. ❤️

Last week, Rao and Jay travelled to Kuala Lumpur to attend the Asia Success Summit 2026, where Mamak Goreng was honoured with the Asia’s Most Recommended Malaysian Cuisine Brand Excellence Award 2026.

What makes this recognition even more special is remembering where it all began.

After migrating to Australia, Rao and Jay started with a humble food stall at the Canning Vale Sunday Market in 2012, combining their love of Malaysian food with their entrepreneurial spirit. From there, they opened a restaurant at Fremantle Markets, before moving to a larger venue in Thornlie as their reputation for authentic Malaysian flavours continued to grow.

Eventually, Mamak Goreng was born. Their first outlet opened at Maddington Central Shopping Centre, followed by a second location at Armadale Central Shopping Centre. Most recently, they opened their third location at Village Green in Karawara, offering a welcoming dine-in experience for customers to enjoy their favourite Malaysian dishes.

Today, every dish at Mamak Goreng is still inspired by family, tradition and those early memories of Malaysian street food. ❤️

This award is a wonderful recognition of Rao and Jay’s years of hard work, but most importantly, it’s a celebration of the amazing customers who have supported them along the way.

From a humble market stall to an award-winning Malaysian cuisine brand with three locations — what a journey!
