Well… this one was a project!

Firstly, a huge thank you to Bishop’s Transport Services and Tara Prince for giving me the honor of creating this very special cake for Geoff’s milestone birthday.

It was an absolute privilege to recreate one of their iconic Kenworths — and I certainly learned a LOT about trucks along the way!

This was by far one of the biggest and most technically challenging cakes I’ve taken on. From carving the prime mover and building the trailer, to making 24 wheels, fuel tanks, exhaust stacks, mirrors, bull bar, mudflaps, lights and all those tiny details — there were definitely a few moments where I wondered what on earth I’d got myself into!

But seeing the whole thing finally come together made every hour worth it.

A few very important thank-yous are needed too…

Yeners Way - Cake Art Tutorials — for the fantastic truck cake tutorial and template inspiration that gave me a starting point for creating my version of the Kenworth T909 Prime Mover.

Steve Mcleod — who was unexpectedly promoted from husband to structural engineer and carpenter and built the incredibly solid platform that allowed this rather enormous beast to be assembled and transported safely in one piece.

Mardy Wright who ran around cleaning and washing up after me and the odd late night dash to the shops for more ganache ingredients!

And Joe at Bakeboss Jandakot— thank you for the advice, the utter amazement that I had taken this cake on and encouragement when I needed to work out how on earth to make some of this happen!

And finally, Happy Birthday Geoff! 🎉 I hope you had a brilliant celebration and enjoyed seeing your truck recreated in cake.

You have an amazing team around you who think the world of you!

I had the pleasure of making Geoff Bishops surprise 80th birthday cake!
