Hi Satchmo family, it’s been a little over 2 months since the fire.
Time for a small update.
Some progress has been made with insurance, thankfully! and we are now just waiting for the insurances building team to get in again and fix the floor boards, walls and electrics.
Which as been approved now but insurance, a big win.
Then it’s our turn to rebuild 🔥 wahoo!

The best news I can give is that we will be open again! I truly hope it will be December so we can make all of your festive holidays that little bit better.
I am doing everything I can to have all I need to rebuild the moment we are allowed back in.

Please be patient with us 🙏

I’m really looking forward to seeing you all again and being part of the North Perth community. I miss you all.

A small update satchmo community.

Monday the fire investigation happens and after that the insurance contractor comes in to clear the site, I reckon that will take a week.

Fingers crossed the floor board survives and I can start to clean and rebuild from scratch as the insurance company believe everything has to come out.

It’s been a huge blow for not just myself but the staff and the greater community that makes satchmo what it is.

I’m just trying to stay calm, stay positive and get the paper work done as quickly as I can so staff get paid and I can get rebuilding.

Hi Satchmo family, I am really sorry to say there has been a fire at Satchmo, we will be closed for a while to refit.

I am overwhelmed with the support. I will do everything I can to get the doors open as soon as I can.

I had been forced on a break due to my health, probably why you hadn’t seen me there.

But don’t fear I will be back soon with Satchmo 2.0 :)

Unfortunately, there was a fire at Satchmo this morning.

The most important thing is that everyone is safe and no one was injured.

Sadly, the café has sustained significant damage, so we will be closed until further notice while repairs and the insurance process take place.

We’re absolutely heartbroken and appreciate your patience, understanding, and support during this time. We’ll keep you updated as we know more.
