Good Morning
Here's our latest Nimble News. This edition, we are highlighting a great organisation that we had the pleasure to meet with. They are Best Lives, an organisation that provides employment support for people with diverse abilities and employers. We were really impressed with their work and dedication to their clients. They provide great gardening services to places like Muresk and Central Regional TAFE.

📣 There are also quite a few opportunities to have your say on qualification reviews. If you are engaged in these industries, we'd urge you to provide feedback on the projects. It's really important that WA has their say.

🦺 Also, just a reminder that October is Safe Work Month, so its an opportunity for your workplace to renew its commitment as a safe and healthy workplace.

We always like to highlight positive news stories – particularly if they are from our industries. So, we are very happy to highlight Best Lives - an organisation that provides employment support for people with diverse abilities and employers.

Here's a great example of sustainability as well as helping young people with work opportunities.

Give your spare work gear a second life.

Have you upgraded your work boots while the old pair still has plenty of life left in them? Put them back to work through Boots on the Ground.

We are looking for safe, wearable work boots, including steel-capped and other suitable work boots, to support WA shearing workers attending Beyond The Shed training and taking on seasonal work.

Before passing them on, please check that the soles, stitching, toe area and fastenings are secure and that the boots are suitable for a working environment. See us at Koorda Show this weekend!

Leave them at your nearest collection point by the end of October! https://loom.ly/4sHAphs

Why we love apprenticeships and traineeships!

Apprenticeships and traineeships are the best way for vocational training to be delivered! Firstly, they give people a job and the chance to earn while they learn, build practical skills in a real workplace and work towards a nationally recognised qualification at the same time.

One of the biggest advantages of an apprentice or trainee is that they are not just sitting in a classroom learning the theory. They are also learning on the job, working with experienced people and developing the skills employers are looking for.

For employers, taking on an apprentice is not just about filling a vacancy. It is an opportunity to develop someone to suit the needs of your business. An apprentice or trainee learns your systems, your customers, your equipment and the way your workplace operates. Over time, they can become a valuable part of the team.

Date Claimer: Calling all teachers, help us celebrate national ag day. National Ag Day (20 November) is a chance for your students to learn where their food and fibre really come from and to celebrate the people that grow it.

Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia’s (PIEFA) has a range of classroom resources, eLearning courses, Farmer Time sessions and agriculture career pathways.
https://www.piefa.edu.au/

"Our Farmers, Our Future"

This year’s National Agriculture Day theme demonstrates that agriculture is part of everyone’s lives, every day.

Whether we're talking about food security, export earnings, regional communities, environmental stewardship or innovation, farmers are central to all of that and to Australia’s prosperity.

Ag Day is a chance to showcase the people behind the food on our plates, the fibre in our clothes, the timber in our houses and the industries that support regional communities and underpin Australia’s economy.
