Just enjoying the last of the good weather in the middle of the long weekend with this unpretentious but delicious Blanco from . Eloquently described by Marnie as "a white wine" made "for a bit of fun", it's a blend of pinot blanc, pinot gris and reisling. Full of flavour, moorish and totally "smashable" - this might not be made for the over analytical wine nerds of the world, but who wants to have a drink with them anyhow 😂

Always a great time at Matriarch and Rogue as well - if you haven't been out to the cellar door at Mintaro you really are missing out. Some alternative varietals on show, all expertly crafted, and you are guaranteed to have a laugh as well. Absolutely one of our favorite cellar doors to visit.

Something a little different today - got out and assisted with some picking at Crabtree Wines as it was time for the muscat grapes to come off. And for those that don't know - their muscat is absolutely amazing so any chance to be involved is absolutely essential to take up!

Aside from this though their new release wines are stunning - a silver for the 2022 riesling at the Clare wine show testament to that, but you really need to taste the new grenache to believe it. Nobody in the valley is making something quite like this.

Picked this up today from the lovely cellar door today. Seemed like an appropriate time to open it! Delicious Clare Valley red on a winters night - cannot go wrong with that. Or any other season for that matter, but save that for later in the year 😂

We finally found our way to last weekend for our son's 9th birthday - at his request. While the weather didn't allow a riesling trail ride to get there, it didn't take the shine off what was a fantastic experience. All the food we had was absolutely delicious - from the pizzas, gnocchi, polish dumplings and (all important) chips, to the desserts of Nutella cannoli, churros and crepes suzette (yes really) - all absolutely bang on. Lovely hosts, great location and a very good and reasonably priced wine list just sealed the deal.

If you haven't called by, make sure you absolutely fix that ASAP. Cannot wait to go back!
