Handmade Polish Golabki only at The UPPside European.

Some dishes are more than just food, they carry memories, family traditions and a little piece of home.

Our handmade Gołąbki (Polish cabbage rolls) are one of those dishes. For Caity, Polish food has a special connection to her childhood and her Polish family roots, the familiar flavours, aromas and traditional dishes that bring back memories of family and time spent around the table.

At The UPPside European, Chef Chris is proud to keep those traditions alive through the food we serve. Our Gołąbki are handmade in-house the traditional way with tender cabbage leaves carefully rolled around a hearty filling, then slowly cooked to bring together those comforting Polish flavours. It’s honest, traditional European cooking made with care and a dish with a little family history behind it. 🇵🇱❤️

What a night for us, Clare Valley w**e and our producers 🥂

We’re delighted to announce that The UPPside European Restaurant & W**e Bar has won and been awarded a one Glass in Australia’s W**e List of the Year Awards 2026.

Our w**e list, proudly led by Caity Uppill, was recognised for its originality and discovery, with the judges highlighting our strong focus on the very best of Clare Valley w**e alongside some more unexpected Clare Valley European varieties.

The judges described our list as having a “heart-on-sleeve focus on Clare Valley’s best vinous assets” and praised its originality, approachable pricing and strong sense of place.

For us, our w**e list has always been about more than simply choosing bottles. It’s about supporting local producers, showcasing our incredible Clare Valley w**e region, and pairing those w**es with the traditional European food we love to create.

To receive national recognition from Australia’s W**e List of the Year Awards is something we’re incredibly proud of and particularly special for Caity, whose passion and care are behind every selection on our list.

A huge thank you to our local w**eries, producers, team and, of course, our guests who continue to support what we do.

We’ve paired locally crafted sward winning Sawmill Gin from Sevenhill with our refreshing artisan gelato for a tasting experience that’s a little different and very Clare Valley.

Each tasting is served with palate cleansing iced water, Mediterranean tonic, 3 gold medal gins and tasting notes, allowing you to explore each gin and gelato pairing at your own pace.

The Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb is here, and The UPPside European is celebrating it's fifth year by showcasing the incredible versatility of local Wunderbar Lamb with our special 'Shank You Very Much'! menu.

Chef Christian is taking the humble lamb shank on a journey through Europe, with four dishes inspired by classic European flavours:

🇮🇹 Italy – Slow-Cooked lamb ragù
🇬🇷Greece – Greek Lamb gyros plate
🇬🇧 England – Lamb Shank with mushy peas, chips and pirt w**e gravy
🇫🇷 France – Lamb shank with ratatouille and red w**e jus

From rich, slow-cooked comfort food to fresh Mediterranean flavours, it’s a celebration of local lamb, European tradition and the Clare Valley produce we’re proud to showcase.

WEDNESDAY LOCALS DAY — PAELLA IS BACK!

This Wednesday, 23 September, Chef Uppill is bringing back one of his signature favourites, traditional Spanish Paella, available for LUNCH & DINNER.

Each paella is a single-serve main course, individually prepared using traditional Spanish Bomba rice, house-made sofrito, saffron and house stock.

Choose from three flavours, starting from $30;

* Paella de Gambas
Locally sourced Spencer Gulf prawns.

* Paella de Pato
Barossa Valley duck.

* Paella de Verduras
Farm fresh Vegetables.

Three paellas showcasing quality South Australian produce with the traditional flavours and techniques of Spain.

All three will be available alongside our regular seasonal menu, so gather your friends, bring the family and make Wednesday your day or night out in the Clare Valley. Viva España! 🇪🇸
