Great memories at Melosi Deli.

Roland Melosi shares one of the most significant moments in the family's history – the devastating fire that tore through the original Yennora factory, destroying much of what generations of the Melosi family had worked so hard to build. Yet, true to the resilience and determination that has defined the Melosi name since 1949, the family rebuilt from the ground up. The original G. Melosi & Sons factory at Yennora had become a landmark for Sydney's Italian community, with customers travelling from across Western Sydney to purchase the family's renowned smallgoods.

When the new factory was completed, it marked not just the reopening of a business, but the continuation of a proud family legacy. In a moment that remains etched in the memories of the Melosi family, former Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam and his wife Margaret Whitlam attended the grand opening, celebrating the rebirth of one of Australia's most respected smallgoods manufacturers.

Today, those stories live on through Roland and the team at Melosi Deli – a reminder that behind every salami, every sandwich and every family recipe is a history built on hard work, perseverance and community.
