🍽️ A New Chapter for Bistro 1878

Our Bistro is getting a fresh start, and we wanted our Top Pub family to be the first to know.

From Thursday evening, 6 August, Bistro 1878 will be proudly operated by ChefHire. You’ll still see many of your favourite meals on the menu, plus daily specials, with plenty more to come over the next few weeks.

To make the changeover happen, the Bistro will be closed on Wednesday, 5 August and for lunch on Thursday, 6 August, before reopening for dinner on Thursday night with a limited menu.

The best part? Many of the familiar faces you’ve come to know and love will still be here, with all current Bistro staff being offered interviews and the opportunity for re-employment.

We’re also excited to welcome Bradley Backhouse, the man behind ChefHire. With more than 30 years of experience in some of Australia’s and the world’s best kitchens, Brad is passionate about great food, great service and creating a fantastic dining experience for our community.

This is an exciting new chapter for Bistro 1878, but one thing won’t change – it’s still your local.

Thanks for continuing to support the Top Pub and Bistro 1878. We can’t wait to welcome you back for dinner from Thursday night! ❤️
