It’s already been 2 months since we’ve closed IROHA, feels like a long time past..
Thankfully, we’re still receiving many warm messages and comments. Arigatou gozaimasu. 😊

Sadly, we will no longer access to our IROHA’s Facebook and Instagram…🥲

But instead we will update our new journey and life on my personal Instagram account.

Dear friends of IROHA

Our 9 years of service is finally ended on last weekend. We’ve spent a whole this week to clean up the entire venue, removing our logo and signs.. ready for the hand over.

Thank you so much for everyone who came for our final lunch and dinner services. We are so touched that huge numbers of friends and super regulars came to see us since the closer announcement.

It was truly amazing 9 years serving to our friends and customers. it was amazing 9 years meeting so many wonderful people through this business. We were so lucky to have this little restaurant in this particular community and supported by the best of the best customers.

Thank you so much to ALL customers came to IROHA last 9 years.
Thank you ALL friends always supported us on the business and as friends.
Thank you ALL suppliers proving us the best ingredients.
Thank you ALL restaurants and hospo friends in Northcote and Thornbury, we create the food cultures together.
Thank you ALL staff worked at IROHA last 9 years, we couldn’t have done without your hardest work and the smiles. Thank you also for creating such a memorable and surprising message booklet by OG’s and OB’s. Very very special gift for me.
Thank you ALL relatives and family back in Japan always caring us and support us with love.
Finally a word can’t describe how I appreciate your love and care and being a special human being, my wife Naoko, thank you so much for the hard work, support and care for last 9 years to make our dream comes true together.

Now, I’m in the IROHA’s kitchen for the very last time by myself in the middle of night, polishing pans and pots that I used for last 9 years, every day. It’s funny that I’m sure there were a lot of challenging time and sleepless nights that i had to face and over come it, however all I can think back at this moment is good memories with people’s smile and enjoy working with the best staff.

I thought I’m not gonna cry because I know this is not the end, but realising I’m actually leaving this place tomorrow and not coming back here anymore, I can’t hold back my tears..

Dear friends of IROHA

Thank you for your ongoing support on IROHA.
It’s is a mixed emotions but I’d like to announce an important change of IROHA.

I and my wife Naoko have decided to hand over our business and close IROHA’s door permanently.

It has been an amazing 9 years serving our dishes to our customers, who became friends and family over the years, but it is a time to move to a new chapter of our life.
We are incredibly grateful for your support throughout the years, and we want to assure
you that this decision was not made easily.

We have opened IROHA in 2015, we had an incredible 9 years supported by many of you, with so many memories.

We’ve poured all of our passion, love and commitment to IROHA. However it is our time now to show all of our love and commitment towards the family especially our daughter who just turned two years old. We feel like it is appropriate time for us to end our journey of IROHA and hand over the business to next passionate operator. We have decided to close IROHA and focus on taking care of our daughter in the hand of both of us together.

A word can’t describe how much we appreciate your support over the years. Thank you so much for being such a nice customers and friends to us. We can not mention everyone’s name here since it’s simply too many but each one of you meant a lot to us to do this business here.

Our last service will be on 21/09/2024 (Saturday)
We are handing over our business to a next passionate and talented operator by 30/09/2024. Our journey of IROHA ends there and the venue will no longer be operate as IROHA from 1/10/2024.

We hope to open our doors again somewhere in the future should circumstances allow, until then it is time to say our goodbyes.
We would like you to visit us in these last
weeks and have one last meal as a token of our gratitude.

More fresh, warm dishes joined in, including our popular special dishes, Hokkaido Seafood Miso Hotpot & Spicy POKE DIY Temaki.
