Did you know… 🤔
Before pouring beers at the Black Swan, our very first licensee Henry Moxham was helping people get across the Murrumbidgee!
Moxham was involved in operating a punt across the river at Wagga in the early days, before going on to become our first licensee in 1861!
We opened our doors on the 30th June 1861 and on opening day, passengers were ferried backwards and forwards across the river to join the celebrations! 🍻
More than 165 years later, many beers poured and with transport a bit easier these days, it’s pretty special to see just how close-knit North Wagga still is 🦆
A pretty special little piece of Wagga history!
