Important Announcement

It is with sincere regret that we announce Long Shot & Co will not be reopening in these premises.
To our valued customers and followers, please know this is an incredibly difficult message to share, and we remain deeply grateful for your loyalty and support.
This closure is not the result of any failure on our part. Long Shot & Co was operating as a strong and successful business.
However, due to ongoing legal matters, we are unable to provide further detail at this stage.
We have now been allocated dates to remove our equipment and belongings. As the timeframe is very limited, we would greatly appreciate any assistance or support from those who are able to help.
This period has been emotionally, financially, and mentally challenging, and your continued support has meant the world to us.

To all our loyal customers, supporters, friends and suppliers, it's been a stressful continuous struggle the last 8 weeks trying to get answers of if we are going to be able to trade again, is the property going to be fixed and so on.
We believe you need to know as you have been our greatest supporters and we are some of the honest, nicest people you will come across. We have always run our business as a place for people to come and relax, get great quality coffee and food and have a chat with us about anything. It's never been about money to us it's about seeing people happy, full and leaving with a smile on their face. So to let you know the update.
We have done everything right in communication with the leasing agent through the Business Commissioner's Office and still no questions have been answered. We have had to use them as the Commercial Leasing Agent will not answer our questions and we are not allowed to approach the owner directly. We have asked the question on the rental payment and what happens when we can't trade for no reason of our own, again no answer. Our rent was paid up even though we couldn't trade. From the 1st of July we stopped paying it as we believed because of not being able to run our business through a major building issue it would be put on hold. We have been continuously blamed from the leasing agent for the elderly gentleman next door having to be moved from his lifelong home. We have been blamed for breaching our contract and not spending a huge amount of money on major electrical upgrades including the house next door. SAPN cut all supply of electricity to both buildings because it was unsafe, a fire hazard and not compliant. A SAPN representative said he doesn't know how we weren't electrocuted.
We have had no legal notification prior to yesterday that we would be locked out. We received a re-entry notification from the commercial leasing agent yesterday (the only communication we have had) and today we have been locked out with all our equipment, personal possessions and stock. So to everyone who sees the notice in the window that the rent hasn't been paid, you all know the situation.
Small business is in crisis at the moment and then you get things like this to dig the knife in deeper. We are working with our lawyer at present and although the community will not have its beloved cafe we will make sure that our voice is heard and someone is made accountable. We will fight for all small businesses to be heard as they are the heart and soul of the community. We are happy for anyone to share this post as the more people that know the better. We will let everyone know as much as we can during this legal battle because our loyal supporters have a right to know.
We appreciate your support, kind words and love, we miss our little cafe and beautiful customers, thank you so much for the time we have got to know you all.

Long Shot & Co Update
To all our loyal supporters we wish there was better news but unfortunately we are still in the dark with what's going on. We can't get answers from our Leasing Agent and SAPN will not supply any power to the business or attached house until major electrical upgrades are completed. We are going through a horrendous time and are now into our 5th week of no trading. We are devastated for our community and have tried everything possible to get some answers. At this stage we are dealing with the Business Commissioner's Office as they have a case proceeding with the Leasing Agent.
Chris Picton's Office has been very supportive and has contacted Andrea Michaels (Small Business MP) on our behalf.
I find it absolutely astounding that a large Commercial Leasing Agent can be so unprofessional in their dealings and make it even harder for small business than it already is.
If anyone has a spare coffee van, shipping container or the numbers for this week's lotto draw! please let us know lol.

Further updates
We are feeling gutted at the moment, Long story short SAPN has shut down the power connection to the shop and adjoining house. There has to be major work done before any power will be restored. We are not sure where this leaves us as we are being kept in the dark and have no idea what is happening. Our Commercial Leasing Agent is not communicating with us on a regular basis. If anyone out there has suggestions or knows someone please let us know and share our post. We are heartbroken and feel for our staff, local community and our very supportive customers 😥

Update from Mish & Joy – Temporary Closure Continues
To our valued community,
We want to thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this incredibly difficult time. Unfortunately, we remain unable to open our café due to ongoing electrical issues that have now kept us closed for 12 consecutive days. Despite our own electrician identifying the root of the problem early on, action from our commercial leasing agent's appointed contractor has only just commenced.
The financial impact has been devastating, with each passing day adding more pressure to an already strenuous situation. We’ve engaged with the SA Small Business Commissioner, sought advice from business advisers, contacted our local MP, and reached out through every appropriate channel in pursuit of a resolution.
This experience has been immensely frustrating, emotionally exhausting, and—quite frankly—more draining than a commercial dishwasher on overdrive. Yet we’re still holding on, as best we can.
While we’re not confident we’ll be open by the weekend without a significant breakthrough, we ask you to continue checking our social media channels for further updates. Your kind words and unwavering support have kept us going in moments we didn’t think we could.

UPDATE🚨
As most of you are aware we are currently closed due to a major electrical problem. I'm sure a lot of people are thinking why is an electrician not fixing it, sounds easy but unfortunately it's much more complicated than that, all our loyal supporters deserve an explanation so I'm going to try.
We are in an old building with old cabling that is attached to the owners house and shares a main electrical feed from SAPN to run both the cafe and house. We are very limited on usage and can easily overload the system which is why we can't add larger equipment to run our kitchen more efficiently. The main electrical feed is situated in the owners front yard, runs underground to the house then is distributed from there to the cafe. There is a major problem in that area that is taking out our side of the power. Our electrician has been fantastic but unfortunately we have to deal through a Commercial Leasing Agent first and this is taking much longer than it should, you would be reading for the next week if I tried to explain.
In the meantime we are losing $$$$$$$ and still having to pay other costs such as rent and various payments. We have staff we don't want to lose as well as our fantastic customers so we are trying to hang in there and do everything we can to try and get up and running.
It's been a very stressful week and we appreciate all the support we are getting from our customers, staff and friends.
Happy to answer any questions anyone has as you all deserve to know.
In the meantime if anyone would like to buy milk, eggs and bacon (we have some stock stored that we managed to save) we will be offering it below cost price to our customers, we will get a post up today or just DM us if interested.
