Like most things at don Fred, they started with a craving.

We’d been missing that salty little bite. The taste of the sea. A squeeze of lemon. That addictive flavour that keeps you reaching for just one more.

So we made it our way.

Slow-roasted eggplant, marinated in seaweed and citrus, transformed into tender strips with a surprisingly familiar taste.

Same same… but different. 😉

We’re beyond excited to bring two special don Fred feasts to Japan next week 🇯🇵🍝

First stop: Osaka on June 2nd
Then Tokyo on June 5th

We’ll be collaborating with two incredible vegan restaurants, and we honestly can’t thank them enough for giving us this fun and unforgettable opportunity. We can’t wait to cook, share our food, drinks and good vibes with everyone over there.

And for everyone back home — don Fred Newtown will stay open as usual ❤️
