THE JACKJUMPERS ARE SET FOR GEELONG

Tasmanian Rugby is proud to announce the 2026 Tasmanian JackJumpers Senior Men’s Team, who will represent Tasmania at the Australian Rugby Shield in Geelong from 8–11 October.

Following a strong club season and an extended squad selection process, 25 players have earned the opportunity to pull on the Tasmanian jersey and represent our state.

Congratulations to every player selected.

The Australian Rugby Shield provides an important opportunity for Tasmania’s leading senior players to test themselves in representative rugby and continues to strengthen the pathway from club rugby through to representing our state.

As there are ongoing works on Selfs Point Road, please be aware that may be delays, and limited parking spots available.

To make sure you don't miss any of the action on Saturday:
👉 Leave early to allow for any extra travel time
👉 Follow any traffic directions
👉 Carpool where possible

RUGBY PARK ACCESS UPDATE | THIS WEEKEND

Heading to Rugby Park this weekend? Please allow a little extra time for your journey.

TasWater will be undertaking works on Selfs Point Road on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

During the works, traffic may be temporarily stopped in both directions for up to 10 minutes at a time while sections of the new sewer pipeline are lifted into place.

✅ Rugby Park remains accessible
✅ Vehicle access to the Cornelian Bay sporting precinct remains available
✅ Pedestrian access to Rugby Park remains available
⚠️ Short traffic delays are possible
⚠️ Ongoing works continue to affect traffic movements and parking availability in the area

If you're playing, officiating, volunteering or coming along to support this weekend, please allow some extra travel time and follow traffic management directions around Selfs Point Road.

Congratulations to our four Tasmania Police members who have been recognised among the best in policing across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific, after being named finalists in the 2026 Australasian Council of Women and Policing (ACWAP) Excellence in Policing Awards.

Held in Darwin this week as part of the ACWAP Development Seminar, the awards celebrate individuals and initiatives that are strengthening policing outcomes and advancing leadership, equity and excellence across the policing profession.
Tasmania Police was proudly represented by four finalists across three award categories:

➡️ Bev Lawson Memorial Award for the Most Outstanding Female Leader
👏 Commissioner Donna Adams APM

➡️ Excellence in Law Enforcement Initiative for Women in the Community Award
👏 Detective Inspector Rebecca Davis

➡️ Most Outstanding Female Intelligence Practitioner Award
👏 Senior Constable Delayna Krelle – State Intelligence Services
👏 Acting Commander Louise O'Connor

Having four finalists recognised on the Australasian stage reflects the calibre of people within Tasmania Police and the important work being undertaken across our organisation every day.

It is a remarkable achievement that highlights the leadership, innovation, professionalism, and commitment of our people.

TWO TEAMS. ONE STATE.

This October, the Tasmanian Colts and Tasmanian JackJumpers will proudly represent our state at the Australian Rugby Shield in Geelong.

Getting two teams from Tasmania to national competition comes at a considerable cost. We are asking Tasmania’s rugby community, businesses, former players and supporters to help make the opportunity possible.

Every contribution will assist with travel, accommodation, transport and the costs of providing our players with a quality representative experience.
