We would like to sincerely apologise to anyone who left Mother’s Day feeling disappointed or that they didn’t get the experience we hoped to give.
In our last post, we did acknowledge there were wait times throughout the day. With the amount of bookings, takeaway orders and walk-ins, we knew there would likely be delays. That’s why we tried to put extra effort into creating a warm family atmosphere while people waited.
We added quiz cards to tables so families could have a laugh and see who knows Mum best, and set up photo backdrops so people could take the opportunity to capture memories with their loved ones throughout the day.
As we said before, the delays certainly were not from anyone slacking off in the kitchen. Every single person behind those kitchen doors wanted the exact same thing — to get fresh meals out, make people happy, and make the day special for families.
Our whole focus for the day was to create a Mother’s Day people would remember for the right reasons, a day families could come together, enjoy each other’s company and make memories. As frustrating as the pressure and wait times became at times, it was also genuinely lovely seeing families sitting together, laughing, taking photos and spending quality time with one another.
We put a huge amount of preparation into the day. We took the first order at 12:10pm and the last meals went out around 2:45pm. Over the entire day, our small kitchen prepared 178 meals, not including desserts.
After lunch service, we then continued into dinner service for those who couldn’t make the lunch sitting due to other commitments through the day.
That doesn’t change the fact that some waits became longer than expected, and we completely understand why some people were frustrated. Your feedback does matter to us, and we will absolutely take it onboard moving forward.
Again, we are truly sorry to anyone who had a bad experience, and we genuinely appreciate everyone who supported us on such a big day.
Love from all of us at Outdo Brew on the Greens
