THE END OF AN ERA
All good things must come to an end, and with full hearts. After 42 years of growing strawberries our parents Jim and Lynda have made the incredibly tough decision to finish up commercial strawberry production after this season.
This leaves us facing one very hard question, what happens next for the café?
We started fresh out of school as a way to help our parents sell their strawberries, and 14 years later, the success of what it became is something we never could have imagined. With the season now coming to an end, and uncertainty about what it would be without the strawberries, we’ve made the difficult decision to close indefinitely and take some time away to pause and reset.
To every single person who has supported us along the way , whether you popped in for a quick coffee, a punnet of strawberries, sat down for a long lunch with family, or told a friend about us. Thank you. You didn’t just support a business, you became part of our story. You helped create a community and local institution that we will carry with us forever.
We leave with a lifetime of beautiful memories, and we truly hope that in some small way, we’ve been part of yours too. Moments shared with loved ones, laughter over coffee, and traditions that made this place feel like home.
I’ll never say no to a comeback in the future but for now, it’s time to slow down and embrace a different kind of life. One filled with more time, more presence, and the simple joys we’ve been working so hard for. Especially Sunday morning sleep ins with the kids 🤍
Thankyou to my staff. Both cafe and farm workers, we couldn’t have done it without you. Many of you have become like family and for that, we’re so thankful.
Thank you for everything , we will miss you all immensely 🫶
(The cafe is now closed however we are still picking strawberries, keep an eye on our socials for strawberry sale opening times for the next few weeks 🍓)
