If you haven't already, meet Josh Dallas, our master butcher running the professional team behind the butcher shop.

From Bulahdelah, Josh has been a butcher for 10 years, initially trained up by our now retired master chef, Wayne Barry. Not only does Josh handle the meat products with skill and panache at The Artisan Farmer for retail, the bakery and the cafe, he also 'handles' bulls - live ones! Josh, it turns out, is also a professional bull rider on weekends! Our guess is that he knows exactly where and how to hold on.

“OMG! That looks amazing!”; “I wish I ordered one now!”; “Don’t worry, I’ll share it!”

When travellers exclaim with excitement as they exit the Artisan clutching a takeaway container, questions must be asked and photos must be taken.
“What’s going on? What’s so exciting?” we asked.
“It’s this bread and butter pudding!… It’s…huge!”
And adorned by cream and custard, so it was. Luckily, so is the drive from Nabiac to Canberra - hopefully it helped fill in the time. Thanks for stopping in!

Walk into The Artisan Farmer and you’ll find a table near the entrance, with menus and an assortment of merch sitting on a backdrop that can only be described as a masterpiece of textile art. Sally and her small team from Patchwork Nabiac collaborated on this quilt to produce a piece of beauty (we managed to catch an otherwise evasive Sally as she was heading out the door, thanks!). Next time you’re in (we’re now open 7 days per week), please feel free to have a close look at the front… and the back!
