Let what is natural and simple be what nourishes you.

Sometimes we may feel food has to be created following a sequence of complex steps and include 10+ ingredients for it to taste good.
When you work with a lot of ingredients you increase your chances of having foods that are incompatible in the dish. This can disrupt your digestion and result in misuse or excess use of our taste sense and start the formulation of toxins in your system.

Spices.. spices.. spices.

We are moving into the depths of Winter where we start to see the qualities of Kapha, such as Heavy, slow, cold, oily, smooth, greasy and stable.
If you are feeling these qualities more so during this Winter season favour spices like Black Pepper, cinnamon, Turmeric, Ginger, fennel and cumin.
Increase Bitter, Astringent and pungent tastes.
Always try to eat seasonally and locally. Mother Nature knows best. She provides what our body can digest during this season.

And as always, if you are experiencing persistent symptoms seek out your local Ayurvedic practitioner to support you back to a state of balance. We know of some amazing practitioners that are practicing Ayurveda traditionally. If you are unsure please reach out, happy to provide contact details.

Whilst they are common and always a crowd pleaser we like to use the Ayurvedic principles to create new dishes that you can enjoy knowing they have been prepared to invite harmony and health into your body.

Aft.....errr whoops. We forgot to take the after. Sorry all, we were to busy enjoying a beautifully seasonally spiced Kitchari, sautéed greens and warming sweet potato lunch. Big thanks to for their beautiful organic produce. In Ayurveda it’s not just about the taste of the food there are 8 factors to consider when preparing food in an Ayurvedic way, one of them is the quality, where possible we source local organic produce. Supporting other small family businesses is something we prioritise in our work.

▪️Some Lifestyle changes to adopt during autumn season- maintain a regular routine, consume warm cooked meals, sip warm water all day long, warm oil massages and eat almonds without their skin.
