A little update from The Hearth 🤎
There’s something we’ve come to understand deeply in our time here:
A hearth 🔥 needs tending.
You have to pay attention to the fire. Know when to stoke it, when to add another log, and when to let it settle.
As we continue to grow The Hearth, we’re learning to do the same.
We opened with a big vision for this little place — a neighbourhood cafe, a providore, a gathering place. Somewhere for good, clean & high-quality food, delicious coffee, beautiful provisions and the simple pleasure of being together.
That vision hasn’t changed.
But building something real also means paying attention to what’s working, what isn’t, and what our community is actually responding to. It means being willing to experiment, evolve and find a better shape for the business.
So, from this week, our regular opening hours will be
7am - 1pm Wednesday–Sunday.
We’ll also be saying goodbye to Hearth After Dark in its current form.
We’ve loved our evenings, but after giving them a good little trial, they haven’t quite grown into what we hoped they might. And that’s okay. Rather than continuing simply because we once imagined it, we’re choosing to put our energy into what is working beautifully and make space for new ideas to take shape.
Our evenings won’t disappear altogether. We’re excited to keep them for pop-ups, soccasional dinners, supper clubs, workshops, private celebrations and gatherings — the kinds of nights that give us a real reason to bring people together around the table.
And there’s a little more experimenting to come…
We’ll soon be trialling opening on Mondays and Tuesdays, and we’re looking forward to seeing what this new rhythm might bring.
The heart of The Hearth remains unchanged.
Simple, wholefoods.
Warm hospitality.
Beautiful things made with care.
Community, connection and a place to linger.
We’re learning as we go, and we’re incredibly grateful to have you here while we do.
