𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗘𝗣!
This past twelve months has literally flown by. Are you all ready?
One last post for the day with a few reminders, so please take note of them all.
𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗗 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦
Please remember the following for tomorrow:
* Melrose Street, between McGormans Road and Saleyard Road will be closed to traffic from 4:30pm until 6:30pm.
* Melrose Street, between Saleyard Road and Phillis Street will be closed to traffic from 4:30pm until 10:00pm.
There will be NO parking available along Melrose Street from Saleyard Road to Phillis Street during this time, as well as the Mount Pleasant Soldiers' Memorial Hall carparks. Please ensure all vehicles are removed from these areas prior to 4:30pm.
𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
All children wanting to participate in the Best Decorated Bike Competition, need to be at Talunga Park no later than 5pm in preparation for the start of the parade at 5:30pm.
𝙋𝘼𝙍𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙎 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝘾𝘼𝙍𝙀𝙂𝙄𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙎- please ensure that if you are not walking with your child, that you have someone waiting for them at the end of the parade route (Phillis Street corner) and es**rt them to the carpark between the Mount Pleasant Soldiers' Memorial Hall and the CWA Gardens. Judging will take place in front of the stairs to the second floor after the parade has concluded.
𝗗𝗔𝗗'𝗦 𝗨𝗚𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗠𝗔𝗦 𝗧𝗢𝗣 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
Hey all father figures out there! Hope you have got your ugly top sorted for tomorrow's event. Listen out for our MC who will call you up for judgement during the night (don't worry, we'll make it as early as possible). Can't wait to see what you have for us.
𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗔𝗧𝗦
Attention, Parade Entrants! Make sure that you listen out for the official announcement over the loud speakers stating who the Best Parade Entrant competition winners are. Looking forward to watching you all go by. We have a lot of entries this year.
𝗥𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗟𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘
Every year there is a raffle held during the street party. Tickets will be available from the designated table at a cost of $2 each or 3 tickets for $5. We have some amazing prizes this year. Winners will be drawn at 8pm on the night. Please note that we will only be able to accept cash for the raffle.
𝗗𝗢 𝗜 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗛 𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗗?
This question comes up each year and we wish to advise once more that while some vendors will have card facilities, not all will. Some of our vendors are local community groups doing fundraising and don't have credit card facilities, so please ensure you have some cash on hand in case you wish to purchase from those vendors. It's also a good idea to have cash on hand if internet services are suddenly down. The only ATM available in our town is at the Mount Pleasant Hotel Motel, otherwise there is one available either at the Foodland or the Mobil Petrol Station in Birdwood.
𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗜 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗬 𝗗𝗢𝗚?
While dogs are welcome to come with you to our event, we must stress that this event gets loud and very crowded. Your dog MUST be kept on a lead and under complete control by the owner at all times. If not, you will be asked to leave by one of our many volunteers. If you dog does not cope well in crowds, sudden loud noises, or around other dogs, please, please, please, leave them home. It will be safer for everyone, including your dogs.
𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧
While we have some volunteers helping out tomorrow afternoon and evening, we ask if others in attendance can spare us a few minutes at the end of the parade to bring out some tables and chairs into the street for our street party, and then again at the end of the night to help clean up by putting tables and chairs away and clearing up any rubbish left behind. The faster we can get it all done, the sooner the street party can begin, and the faster we can open the road at the end of the event. Your help is greatly appreciated.
And on that note, we will say goodnight!
There will be a couple more posts in the morning, but other than that, we'll see you all tomorrow evening at 5:30pm for the start of our Christmas Parade.
