We are looking for a chef de Partie to come work with us. Looking for a person with skills and experience in cooking in quality restaurants. Our food is Italian, our kitchen is open, and our tips are great - all things that make this an excellent place to come and advance your career - We want someone who fits into the team and who brings a sense of humour and enthusiasm every day to their job. On the menu from tonight… pappardelle with boar ragu made using wild boar from the Adelaide Hills… thanks Gamekeepers Meat for Chefs for getting this to us. So delicious.

Hand making pasta for Alba week starting today. This pasta dough is outrageous 40 yolks in a kilo of dough - the dish is called Tajarin al tartufo and while seemingly quite simple is just so decadent - perhaps you could really make a treat out it and drink a glass of .mariotto Timorasso with it. Thanks Will from for bringing in this great wine from the hillsides of Tortona, it’s perfect.

Winter snacks game is getting delicious - slow cook lamb breast for 12 hours - press it for a day under weights - chargrilled over coals - serve with a sauce from the braise and bagna caulda. It won’t be around forever so you should come and taste it today. Italian food is not just all pasta - we also love a chargrill :)

Having the kitchen right in the middle of the dining room allows the chef’s to really enjoy watching people eat their food…

Did you know that every day we offer our oysters 1/2 priced from five pm till six. It’s to encourage our guests to come in a tiny bit earlier than their usual dinner time and treat themselves to a little treat.

Vino bianco or Rosso - our list is all Italian because of course Italians do it best, everyone knows this is true.

Pasta is always handmade - and changes very frequently. This week we have made a delicious spiced cuttlefish dish. Bello!!!

For those guests looking for something a little special - our wine list includes some of the great wines from Italy.

Finish your meal with a small digestive from our little trolley we have stocked it some of the most amazing artisan distilleries in Italy… and a little smattering of great whiskey.

Winter light comes streaming in the room - we love this window and the little jewel box of a restaurant that it creates. Come visit us soon.

A little photo shoot of our morning bread making ritual at Bau Bau, it’s just a few simple steps and some very tasty focaccia is the end result. A huge part is the delicious Laucke Flour Mills euro flour and the huge amounts of Mount Zero - Australian Olive Oil, Olives & Produce olive oil we splash the dough around in. Two excellent local producers we are so very grateful to each morning.
