Snakes.
This is an important safety notice for everyone on the property. As the warmer weather arrives, snakes are emerging and becoming highly active across the farm.
Please read and follow these crucial safety protocols immediately:
🚶♂️ Daytime Movement.
• Keep your eyes on the ground: Watch every step you take, especially when walking near long grass, woodpiles, or brick/timber debris.
• Wear protective gear: If possible wear enclosed footwear (boots) and long trousers
• Don't reach blindly: Never put your hands or feet where you cannot see.
🔦 Nighttime Movement.
• Always carry a torch: Visibility drops significantly at night, but snakes remain active on warm evenings. Never walk between buildings, sheds, or paddocks in the dark without a bright flashlight.
• Stick to cleared paths: Avoid cutting through unlit or overgrown areas after dark.
🐍 If You See a Snake.
• Do not approach or provoke it: Most snake bites occur when people try to catch, move, or kill the animal. Back away slowly and let it move on.
• Report it immediately: Keep eyes on the snake from a safe distance if possible, and immediately report the sighting to Little Eeden so a licensed handler can manage the situation.
