This week we celebrate 155 years of Metung, officially proclaimed a village on 28 June 1871.

After an incredible weekend of the East Gippsland Winter Festival, it couldn’t have been a better time to celebrate. Seeing our community come together to share good food, live music and local culture was a beautiful reminder of what makes Metung so special.

Magic Metung, you’ve got that right 😍.

Metung is truly a jewel in the East Gippsland crown, set at the end of a peninsula, Metung is almost completely surrounded by the waters of Lake King 💦 and Bancroft Bay.

A cosy and inviting winter village 🚶‍♀️‍➡️ to stroll the boardwalk before lunching at one of Gippsland’s favourite pubs, Metung Hotel. All waiting for you when you can return.
