Something slightly different is coming this Winter for our East Gippsland Winter Festival Metung community event.
After 5 fantastic years of Fire & Ice @ Metung on the Village Green, and with Glenn Smith of Ice Designs Australia officially retiring (finally! 😄), we’re excited to unveil a fresh new chapter for our much-loved community event…

🎉 First weekend of the Victorian school holidays
This year’s event is all about bringing people together to enjoy amazing winter comfort food, live local music, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere by the water.
🪵 Watch a live wood carving masterpiece come to life (and maybe take it home at auction!) BK Carving
🤹Enjoy roaming entertainment, giant lawn games & face painting
🚒 Kids can explore the CFA fire truck, colouring activities & more
🍴Wander the village and discover local street vendors serving up their favourite winter warmers – grab takeaway fish & chips, hot spuds or woodfired pizzas, or settle inside and enjoy delicious international eats
🍸 Sip on boozy hot gin toddies, G&Ts and cocktails from the Bancroft Bay Distillery mobile bar, or wrap your hands around a warm spiced Gluhwein
🌭 Enjoy tasty winter eats & drinks from stalls on the Village Green - think sausages in bread, cups of soup & hot chocolates, or level up with a tasty bratwurst topped with sauerkraut!
🥟 Take on the famous Doin' Dumplings dumpling eating competition (now with adults AND kids categories!)
🧜♂️ Watch the Sea Hags weave their magic through the crowd -make sure you snap a selfie with them
🏮 Join our magical lantern parade along the waterfront
💕 And for something extra special… pre-book a VIP Bancroft Bay Distillery Igloo experience for couples – your own cosy private space with food and drinks served to you while you soak up the festival atmosphere.
