THE PRINCE has long been the home of Merewether locals catching up for a drink and a bite to eat. But if you haven’t visited in a while you might be pleasantly surprised- The Prince was extensively renovated last year and reopened in late 2019. We've been pumping fresh new life into this classic public house off the back of this reno, with a fresh, friendly and motivated team on board. The new and

improved Prince features a refurbished Public Bar, state of the art Sports Bar, VIP room, upstairs Balcony Bar and a bistro dining space serving up top-notch pub food. Following a brief closure this year, The Prince is fully open and proud to be a COVID Safe business.

Tomorrow we’re cheering on our fabulous Merewether United FC Lionfish 🦁🐠 ❤️ in their Grand Final,
And getting behind our local league Grand Finalists South Newcastle RLFC ❤️….
And of course our Dad’s- we’ll be spoiling them too!

What a season it’s already been for Merewether Carlton Rugby Club — your 2026 Hunter Rugby Club Champions!

The Women’s team and Premier 2 are already Grand Final bound, while First and Third Grade take on Wanderers in their Preliminary Finals this Saturday.
